Anyone running exhaust that ends underneath the bike? I'm thinking a couple of shorty mufflers underneath, ending 10 or 12 inches in front of the rear tire. As long as I don't run open pipes without a muffler on there, I should be alright for backpressure/runability, right?

I really want to get my cans off the sides. I've got a couple of little leaks, and they're bugging the crap outta me.

I don't see why not. It should work with 4 mufflers (shorties) and get some kind of turn-outs to get the exhaust from blowing directly at the tire. It should sound pretty mean too!!
You will need to do some fine tuning with the carbs, because you will have no collector to equalize the back pressure in your exhaust.
Let us know how it turns out if you do it. PD

Could you fit a Buell muffler on to a 4-1?
