exhaust? why now?!

    Hey everyone
    So I've got an aftermarket exhaust on my xj550 Maxim
    Not sure what kind.. it's black and aluminium? The guy who had it before me had installed it.. I have the stock exhaust but not the pipes...
    But the reason I'm ranting... The tip broke off of my aftermarket (currently installed) exhaust.. It's really loud.. I want it fixed.. What should I do?
    I really only want to re-install stock if it's a last resort.. the exhaust system is so heavy!

    The crack in the tip right now is really small.. If I can weld it should I? Should I just got a new can?

    No reason you can't weld it is there? Aesthetics aside, a weld is just fine, especially if you find the crack early enough.

    you say you dont have the pipes. i take it to mean you dont have the head pipes...

    ive got a set that are not in the best of shape i.e. surface rust, small dents, drain plug heads broken off...

    if youre interested in them let me know and ill take some pics. they will be really reasonable. shipping will be the biggest part of the cost since they are coming from the states (detroit)...
