I'm in the market for a new system, i need to purchase a full system because my whole system has pretty much bit the dust. Is MAC the only company that manufactures systems for the '81 maxim 650? I haven't had much luck finding anything else. I'm looking for a 4 into 1, but a 4 into 2 will do as well. Let me know if you guys know of any good full systems. Thanks.

Seen a complete stock system minus the headers under "650 maxim" on ebay gots a couple days left and it is at around 30 plus 18 shipping. Just thought I would let you know. Thought that maybe it would help!

If it is just you mufflers that are bad people have adapted the stock harley mufflers to fit on their 650's also. They work pretty good from what I have heard you don't need to re jet or anything as long as they still have the baffles in them. Just maybe a retuning on the carbs. You can get those pretty cheap on ebay to. Seen a pair of stock slash cut sportster mufflers on auction that were at 5.99 plus around 15 shipping that had a day or two left on them with no bids. Just thought I would throw that out there for you also.

yeah, my problem is that i have some bolts that are broken/missing on my headers too. If i can find a set of bolts to replace the ones on the headers i'd be fine with grabbing a set of mufflers, but right now i just feel like getting a full system. My headers aren't in the best shape either.

Jardine makes a nice chrome full 4-into-1 system.

I you have a connection in the UK ... you can get a MOTAD System in Black, Chrome or Stainless.

The nice thing about the MOTAD Exhaust Ststems is they DO NOT require any re-jetting. They run decently quiet and with Stock Performance.

They don't come cheap and shipping is going to make it down-right expensive.

If you are looking for parts talk to the resident parts guy chacal. He has a thread that is constantly running for parts, drop him a line and he should be able to get you almost anything and the best part is his prices are great! Check him out!

I just got done putting (ebay search: shorty, bsa, triumph, muffler) some neat lil aftermarket mufflers on mine that gave it a great sound. Loud enough to be cool and muffled enough to not be obnoxious. I had to cut off the mufflers about 4 inches after the equalizer tube to get them to mount nicely (with a little convincing). Could be an option for ya as long as ya have or get some working head pipes.

EDIT: Link to same set on eBay right now.
