So, I refreshed my final drive oil yesterday but found that there was no crush-washer on the lower/magnetic plug. The filler plug did have one.

I tried to use a crush washer i had on hand, spares from the oil pan plug... it seems the oil pan plug is a different/smaller size. The crush washers i have will not seat fully down onto the magnetic final drive plug/bolt.

The crush washer will slide past the threads ok, but there is a cone shaped taperd section near the 19mm wrench flats and the washer's Inner diameter is too small to go all the way down.

My fear is that if i use these washers, they will end up shaped like a cone as i tighten the bolt, and that they wont work at all..

The haynes book & chacals price list says the main oil pan plug, and the final drive plug both use the same crush washer.... so not sure what gives.

any ideas? is there another size crush washer im supposed to use for the final drive plug?

    Thanks!

Take plug go to NAPA they should have a crush washer in correct size ( a crush washer is not only to seal ,but to keep from over torque on plug)

I'm sure Chacal has the right ones.

Assuming i must have a replacement/aftermarket drain plug or some such... if what I read above is correct, the Oil Pan crush washer should be the same as the final drive's. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'll try napa first... worst case, i'll order a new plug & washers from chacal.

I'll snap some photos too, so you guys can see the interference I'm talking about.

    Thanks guys!
