Anyone know off hand what the ratio is for the 83 seca 650 final drive?

I'm thinking about doing a swap with an xs11 pumpkin for the better accelleration / lift, and giving up some top end speed. That is unless someone tells me it won't fit my wheel - or the ratios are the same...

    32:11

BTW, if this is feasible, it might interest other people that an XS750/850 final drive is a bolt on replacement for the XS11, offering higher gearing and lower revs at highway speed. Somehow I don't think it's a bolt on for the XJ series though. They are also different in that they have a grease zerk for the shaft bearing at the differential.

does 32:11 work out to 2.90:1 ?? my notes say the turbo's rear end is 4.179:1 and the xs11 is 3.30:1
    I'm demanding a re-count! [I'm from Florida]
I've been looking for taller gears for the 81 seca 750 by 10% or so.
    any advice would be appreciated.

I've been all through the gearing on the XJ's and they are all almost identical, except I believe the XJ900 has an extra tooth on the clutch hub, but don't quote me on that. I went over every combination, but there is really no difference between them. I believe the Viragos and VMax also use this final drive ratio. Parts bin engineering, Yamaha does it very well, and it makes perfect sense.

For what it's worth: I had a V-Max & installed a Venture pumpkin to give lower revs at highway speeds. The Venture had one less tooth on the ring gear.
