Up here in Ontario Canada, we seem to be gouged when it comes to motorcycle insurance. 2 years ago I was paying $503/yr for my 82 650 Maxim. Last year, $607....this years renewal came in at $705!!

All of this is with a perfect....and I mean perfect driving record!

Do some shopping folks (in Canada moreso), I just got a policy with a different insurance company for $141/yr. No, that's not a typo....$141.

    I am now a happy man. :D

I would be happy to be paying $1000/year, never mind $100!.

Now I am only 24, and last summer was my first year owning a bike, I paid $3600, cheapest of about 15 places I called.

This year I'm down to $2000 for the year.

Its great paying double the value of your bike for one years insurance, NOT!!!
This is all with a fully clean record, I've never even been pulled over!

But I guess if you like something, you gotta pay for it :/

Married + 33 years old + no accidents + multi-vehicle discount = $75 USD a year, granted that's just for liability. I'll increase it later when I'm done modding it.

I pay $165 a year full coverage. I have a clean record for 41 years. Insurance is the most hated bill I pay.

I'd check your coverage to be sure that it's enough to replace the bike and accessories. I did an agreed-upon value with the insurance company for mine since I travel with it and have a fair amount of gear and add ons for that purpose. There really is no such thing as "full coverage." There are only limits to what the insurer will pay out under a given set of circumstances, and the baseline amounts are never enough to cover the costs of a major accident.

it was based on miles of bike and paid value
as for the accident coverage I can't remember how much it
was but I am covered 2 ways
also being a helmet-less state had a lot to do with the rate
    still not complaining
if I was in Canada it would be insane
I left that country for a lot of reasons
    insane insurance rates being one!

I got mine through The Personal. I'm also military so it gives me a bit more of a discount.
