When I picked it up in September of 11.

When I picked it up from my machinist friend today. He finished it up by machining a whole bunch of things on the wheels to make them fit. Always liked the CBX. Always hated the Comstar wheel.

Damn man, that turned out nice. I hate to admit but I kind of liked the 80's lazer beam paint on the old body work.

    Thanks, Hank! :)

The body work is the same. just painted.

You know it's an old paint job when you take the paint off and find this.

A beautiful bike and really well executed. I love Honda's of this era. Have had many, but never a CBX1000. Lucky you. Enjoy,

The CBX is an iconic machine; and I totally agree about the Comstar wheels.

Where does one find a six-stick manometer?

I like the look for sure.

This said, I'm a bit concerned with the drilling pattern of your rotors.

All holes seem to be in straight rows from the center to the edge, which is sort of a good way to initiate fissures that would ruin your rotors, specially the front ones because they work harder and hotter.

Very, very nice. I have always been entranced by the CBX but know my limitations in skill/patience. I am impressed by your quantities of both.

Are those engine guards protruding from the side of the frame? I see two stubs that appear to be mounted on the frame but they look a little short if the bike fell on its side. Just something I've not seen before but I like the overall look. Nice change for a 35 year old bike!

Seriously? I'm genuinely OLD and I know those are "stunt bike spools" commonly used as tipover guards by today's fashionable squids. Got to admit they're a lot less obtrusive than big chrome loops.

In regard to the rotors, Kawasaki used to drill theirs like that. That being said, they appear to have been done rather imprecisely and as such I would also be concerned; especially considering the mass of that bike.

Again, thank you for the compliments.

Also thanks on that info on the rotors. They came on the wheels.

It'll just be a Sunday cruiser.

I rode one as an 18 Y/O squid back in 83'. You never forget a ride on a CBX. Knew I'd have one someday.

Beautiful bike! The final appearance actually looks lighter. I bet those 6 to 1 exhaust makes it sound like a Ferrari. You should post a video of it running so we can hear those pipes.
