Background: I bought this bike about a month ago. I knew the calipers were stuck and it wouldn't idle. New carb boots, air/oil filter, brake pads, and a good carb cleaning.

So I finally got by cleaned carbs back in the bike last night. It started right away(whew). After a late nite test, I rode it to work today. I didn't really know what to expect, but here are my thoughts:

    - good power, great sound, fairly comfortable.
    - low speed maneuvering sucks (this thing is a tank)
    - Brakes are weak, but probably as spec'd 25 years ago.
    - pops out of second if you really get on it from 1 to 2. I probably over-revved it a few times today. It rides real nice if you ride it like a 25 year old bike :)
Overall, I had a blast on it.

Some things I have to look into:
    - Oil warning light comes on at high revs when cold. I know theres plenty of oil, but can't remember if the sensor is pressure or level.
-Battery warning comes on occaisionaly, even with 14+ V.
-Brake warning light has been on since I got it, but I think one of the floats is stuck. I cleaned out both resevoirs to no avail.
    - high speed wobble. the instrument cluster bounces up and down like a yoyo at 80mph. I don't think I will ever take this bike over that speed, but it's nice to know I could. I used to stretch the beemer out over 100 at least once a day.

    Any clues?

I'l post a pick of the bike. I have less into this bike (including purchase) than I used to spend a year on tires, so I'm very happy...

Oil light is triggered by level and not pressure. So up the amount a little and that should do it.
Battery sensor is triggered by fluid level also. So top it off with distilled water.
Brake warning is triggered by a low brake fluid level in the resevoir. So if it is up then yea, a float is probably stuck.
Of course I am assuming that this is on the '82 1100 in your sig line.

    Yup. That's the one. \\\

Really? the battery sensor is triggered buy level? Odd. But thanks for the tips....

I look forward to working the small bugs out of this one for a change. It's a cool old bike...

Try a simple repair on the battery sensor. This worked for mine. Take it out of the battery and wipe it down. Contaminants build up on it after time and cause it to send false signals from time to time. Couldn't hurt.
