    Ok i have the link
    http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.ph ... eadid=5090

and only thing left for me to do is remove the clutch basket and the bearing on the right side behind the gear paw.
I removed the gear paw and the three allen bolts from the bearing but it won't come out and don't know why and don't want to break it.

    Thanks
    Zack

ok i have the gear shifter out and the clutch plates out.
I can't remove the 'shifter arms' the parts that move around changing the gear. just above the gear bearing there is a bearing for the 'arms' I removed the bolt holding it in. But the 'arms' go around the shaft and can't remove them. I'll try to upload a couple pics.

I guess nobody knows how to remove the gears from a 85 750X without cracking the case?

I could be wrong man, but I think it's like the maxim 650 and the case has to be split. Sorry man. I feel your pain as I am getting started in the same project on my 650.

Remove the clutch basket, there is a snap ring behind it to remove the shift fork shaft. Pull the shaft and the forks will come out. Looks just line the 1100 trans. I have done this on both of my 1100's, time consuming but works.

Unfortuneatly my shift fork shaft comes out the same side as my main drive gear. After a couple of phone calls and stuff, I have to crack the case. Which is ok since i wanted to sandblast the engine anyways.

Where are you at so far with this? I'm still trying to figure out what the hell has to come off to split this case.

That's a bummer. I have this on my list and was hopeful that I could just follow the same steps as the link you have.

Did you find another way or did you have to split the case?
