Well, I've started developing some troubles in the bike. Frustrating things. Oh, so so so frustrating.

Problem 1: For starters, after riding the bike on a short 20 minute route, I was unable to put the bike back into neutral. After many other occasions of running the bike without this problem I was kind of frustrated. No matter how many times I tried, no matter how many times it felt like it was in neutral, it simply wouldn't get into it.

Problem 2: Leaks. Massive massive oil leaks coming from the exhaust collector. When I start up the bike, I get a good stream going from it. And when the bike is just sitting around the garage it drips. Little by little until it has a nice new oil puddle/stain under it. Suffice to say, this isn't good either.

Problem 3: Uneven run/idle. This little gem of a problem started just last week. After some troubles in getting the bike to start, I noticed a very jumpy idle. You could see breaks in the exhaust gases coming out of the tailpipe. It wasn't something that came on slowly either. One day it was running smooth, the next it started doing that.

Any help with these troubles would be greatly appreciated. And by that, I mean any ideas which can be articulated by some lamen's terms and studded with short sentences to boot. I haven't had this bike for very long, and I've very little experience with work on bikes. Thanks in advance for any help. I know that I've been asking quite a few questions since I got here, I suppose I just want to learn how to maintain my bike and keep it going strong for many years to come.

    Thanks again.

You may have a faulty oil check valve going to the turbo allowing oil to gravity feed into it after it is shut off. Or, the turbo seals may be shot. Or both. Oil feeding into the engine though the carbs would definately cause running problems. You may also have fuel starvation problems. Some have found a disintegrating cork seal inside the gas cap prevents the tank from venting, causing fuel flow problems.

and another thing, a disintegrated primary chain drive guide may prevent the transmission from shifting after it goes to pieces and gets into the transmission.

My understanding is that bent shift forks or shift fork rod might cause your shifting problem.

    Could your carbs need synched?

It took a bit of fine footwork, but I was able to get the bike back into neutral.

The bike starts up nice and quick with a full battery (although that battery may not be holding a charge real well). When it does start though, it sits in at uneven idle at roughly 400 rpm instead of the 1050 rpm that is suggested of the bike. If I put on ANY choke at all the bike dies almost instantly, but if I give some throttle it comes up in rpm fairly quickly.

Well, that's all for now I suppose.

    Have the carbs been pulled/cleaned/serviced?
