    Hi all.

New here with 2 quick questions. I don't have a XJ but a FJ, hoping some experts are on here since they are almost identical to the XJ600.

I've already got the haynes manual but I've got 2 questions that aren't mentioned anywhere

    • 1. The manual says there is no float height specified for the FJ600. For the XJ600 it says 17.5 +-1mm, for FZ600, XY600 radian it says 20mm+-1mm.Now my FJ600s are all 21mm. Do I use 17.5mm or go through the trouble and use the fuel height method instead?2

    • 2. My FJ600 had 2 rubber plugs blocking the pilot jet. Now I know these plugs from my bandit 400. The pilot jet draws the fuel from the main jet via a small passageway inbetween the ports. However I looked down in the FJ600 pilot jet ports and there is no passageway anywhere. If you would put the plug in it would totally block the pilot jet. Has the previous owner messed up or I have gone mad? (I bought it non-running).

    Thanks!

Care to explain? Where did the plugs come from? They fit perfectly. Why would he randomly place 2 plugs when they weren't there before? He rode the bike before it stopped working

Yeah, I saw the same in my Haynes manual. But the Haynes uses hakachi carb for many drawings, so I wasn't sure. None of them have plugs?

    What about float height?
