FJ600 No start - no spark

    Well, the seller wasn't lying. There is no spark.

    I checked #1 and #4 cylinders, neither one has anything.
    I also checked the leads to coils from the TCI- they have power.

    It occurs to me that I have the 550 that has known good coils and pickups, waiting for that new TCI I ordered. How good of an idea would it be to take the FJ600 TCI and and plug it into the 550 to try?

    #1 and #4 would be the same coil. What about the #2/#3 coil?

    I've been looking into this (a bit). Early 600 TCIs appear to be pin compatible with the
    550s so you might be in luck. If so I can't see the harm in giving it a go. The later versions
    with different timing cover (actually now teh alternator) I think are different.

    So,I tried it.

    No dice.

    My new TCI for the 550 should arrive any day now. We shall see.
