Hi, I'm working on getting a 1985 Maxim X back on the road. It's in pretty good shape but needs some TLC-carbs cleaned, fluids changed, battery, etc. The front footpeg rubber is in bad shape. will pegs from other years work? I know I may need to change the mounts. I found aftermarket ones on Ebay for an XJ 700S(Regular Maxim). Will those work? It Looks like they will, just has a different look. I don't mind the different look. Old ones in bad shape are pretty pricey.

    Eyesman,

It's a bit difficult to veer away from the stock setup because different mounts will change the relationship between the pegs and the shifter/brake pedal.

I may be able to help as I have several extra stock ones in nice shape laying around.

    PM me if you're interested.

    Tony
