Just trolling the waters here. I bought this XJ750R Seca last week on eBay.

    eBay listing

I bought it for a friend who has now decided he doesn't want it. I'd love to keep in and in fact I might. I just have way too many horses in the stable at the moment.

Here's what I can tell you about the bike. I rode it home Sunday night. 40 miles. The engine and tranny seem very strong. No issues there.

This thing has seen some outdoor time and there is rust. Nothing too bad, but there is rust. I can get you pics if interested.

Tires seem OK. Not new but reasonable.

    Seat is immaculate. As new.

Left front turn signal is held on with a zip tie. It works and there are replacements listed on eBay now.

Choke is stuck. Might need a new cable. Might just need to free up the slide.

Fog lamp not working. I believe it is just a bad bulb.

Dash light not working. Again, I think it's just a bulb, but don't know for sure.

Front calipers could use a rebuild. They're free, but I would really recommend a little atention here.

Starter might be going. I will throw in a spare with the bike.

I think that's it. At this point, I will take what I paid for it. $760. If I don't get any takers, I will start to fix this stuff and the price will go up.

This would be a perfect bike for a tinkerer with little experience. There are no serious problems. Lots of little ones, but nothing an amatuer wouldn't be able to deal with.

I can help with delivery. I can throw it in my truck and if you pay for the gas, I would be willing to haul it as much as a few hundred miles. My truck gets about 17 mpg and at $3.00 a gallon that works out to about .18 per mile. You would need to cover tolls as well. Seems like a fair deal to me.

Let me know if anyone's interested.

Not that there seems to be much interest, but I have now confirmed that the starter is fine. The solenoid was bad. Replaced it with one from my spare Turbo and she starts right up every time now. I also freed up the choke. Runs like a top.
