Trying to find a new home for my old XJ650. This could be a good project bike, or also a good for parts. Will be moving out of province soon and don't have time/ability to take it with me.

The bike runs and was being ridden every summer for the last three years. What has been done to it: POR 15nd the tank, works incredibly well and is still holding up perfectly, rebuilt carbs (on a cold day, you will need to shoot a bit of starting spray into it, but once going it will work perfectly; when i rebuilt them i didn't do a very good job on the choke feeds, as the looked good, but apparently were not). New starter brushes, new alternator brushes, has a new battery (is out of the bike for winter storage, but will be included). New front brake pads are included, but not installed. New fuel lines and a new (aftermarket mechanical) petcock. Engine is in good shape with ~46,000kms and still runs strong.

Bike also has cafe race handlebars and bar end mirrors added to it (see pics)

Cannot be ridden away, as the front tyre has dry rotted from being in storage.

I'm looking to get around $150-200 or so out of this bike, but my main concern is just seeing that someone in the enthusiest community who appreciates it, or wants to use the parts to get their own bike running gets it. As such, if you are in the Vancouver area and can pick the bike up then i would consider letting it go for free.

Sorry, I won't ship the bike, or sell individual parts.

I'm in Van and would take her if you decide to give it away. I could really use some of your parts but the work on mine has sapped all the money away.

Would certainly leave you with some beer though :)

    Cheers

If the bike is still available I would like to have it. I have a friend that should be able to pick it up for me.

My (not-so)-humble opinion... don't part it out. It looks too good to part out.

Schooter: it's on the other side of the country, near Washington state.

Threating to part out something that good looking should be subject to 50 lashings with a wet noodle
