I hope I am posting this in the right place but if you need a cheap fork seal driver a large paint roller is ideal. I am assuming all the XJ machines use the same diameter of fork stanchions.

That's a clever solution. There are several different sizes of fork tubes across the XJ line, so it might not work for all models.

If you leave the roller brush on the fork, it would be like "fuzzy dice" hanging from a rear view mirror ;):p

My fork seals were originally replaced after about 2 years with life time warranteed seals (I am the original owner of bike). Twice in the last 10 years I have had mild leaking on the seals, both of which were remedied using the 35mm file method (google it). Haven't have to replace those seals yet.

I used to use a piece of timber k-moe but I think this is better and also cheap. If other forks are a different diameter a piece of plastic pipe cut along it's length should be fine.

PVC pipe works great. It is available in many sizes. If the diameter is a little too big you can cut a slot along the length and squeeze it tighter with hose clamps.

I believe you meant "film" not "file." Didn't want a new reader to get confused and start filing his forks.
