Fork swap

    I own a 82 xj650 maxim I have forks from a 82 xj750 maxim and the inner fork tubes are pitted, question is can I put the tubes from the 650 maxim on the 750 maxim outer forks

    As I told you on the the phone, the fronts are interchangeable. I highly recommend that you upgrade your springs as they are old..

    If you put the 750 sliders on, then swap the brake system over, too, and the rim. You'll be doing a complete front end swap, but "un-swapping" the fork upper tubes.

    So I was able to get the 750 maxim forks apart easily, I will post a thread with pictures soon as I can. The milky white that came out my Fork was a sign of neglect. I appreciate your time.
