Good job. They look good and solid too. Don't you just love making you own parts that actually work?!
When I fabricated my forward controls, it took a few tries, but I finally got'm to work and look good. It's really not that hard if you like making things.

Very cool. I had contemplated making my own forwards as well, but having a small amount of time to get a ton of stuff done led me to decide on a jockey shifter with highway pegs instead.

Jockey shifter with just highway pags is a unique look indeed (old school) and adds a bit of flair to a ride, however once you make forward controls, you will never go back to standard controls. It just seems to be a more natural riding position for a cruiser/bobber type bike. If I'm going to be in one seating position for hours out on the road, I'd much prefer to be in a laid back comfortable (natural) seating position with my legs/feet out in front of me. To each there own.
I can't imagine sitting in a crouched forward position (sport bike - cafe racer) with my feet directly under me and my arms and torso leaning forward for hours. Of course at age 55, my old bones aren't as agile as they once were.
I do however have a pair of flip-down pegs directly under me if I feel the need to bend my legs back once in awhile, but I never seem to use them much anymore.

Well, having a Rigid bike keeps me from spending hours on the road, lol! Mine is more of a "bar hopper" if you will, even thought I don't actually go to bars.......

i agree painter, i too left the original pegs and controls in place, mainly so that there would not be any issues when going through inspection, and secondly my wife can stretchher legs out and use those on long rides..

Those are AWESOME! Would you be willing to fabricate a set for my 82 650 for a "small" fee?
