    Hey Guys (and gals)

I re-built my master cylinder the other day and after bleeding the lines, my brakes are fantastic... a little too fantastic.

The front lever is rock hard. It catches with the most minuscule pull which is really hard on the hands.

Is there any way to adjust my brakes to let some of the pressure off? Not only to ease up on my right hand but to avoid pulling too hard and locking my front tire.

when you rebuilt the M/C did you clean the real small hole in the bottom it is a pressure relief hole that could be causing the stuff handle

I'm pretty sure I did. I soaked the thing in parts cleaner overnight and prodded everywhere I could. I'm also pretty sure I saw a bubble or two come out of there while bleeding the system

Yup at least on my bike if you look on the perch behind the lever kind of between the lever and the throttle you will see a screw with a lock nut. lossen the lock nut and adjust until it feels nice. Once you see it it is obvious. I didn't know anything about it till I was cleaning one day.

Are you talking about the screw that presses down on the plunger? All that'll do is adjust the lever in and out, not the pressure of the system.

Have you rebuilt the calipers also my old Honda 750 had a real hard handle until I rebuilt them then it softened up.

I have rebuilt the master cylinder. The brakes were a little stiff before... they're really stiff now.

They SHOULD be as hard as "grabbing a rock" that's a good thing, unless the caliper itself is sticking...

If it's hard on your hand, then adjust the lever so it has some travel before it engages the plunger; that's the only real adjustment.
