i noticed the piston/cilinder dust seal boots
    had expanded.

    what can i do?
is there a way to bring em back to normal?
what should i use to clean the other one?
    soap n'water?

ok maybe monday i'll take the cilinder measures to the shop,

or take the other boot from the right caliper to compera.

    thx m8!

First off, you can't "log into" XJ4Ever. Send chacal a PM or email info @ xj4ever.com and he'll help you. He does deal internationally.

The 650 Seca and 650 Maxim have completely different front brakes. Chacal can help you sort it out, armed with your VIN.

Seca is XJR; Maxims were just "XJ" and the year designation: An XJ650RJ is an 82 Seca, the XJ650J is the '82 Maxim. IN THE US.

I had the same problem you did when I went to try going to the xj4ever web site.
It is a thread in the forums. It is a catalog, actually.
    http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=14561.html
That will take you right to the catalog.
    http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=1 ... rt=30.html
the second link will take you right to the part of the catalog with brake parts, etc. It starts on Master cylinders. Just keep scrolling down. The brake section continues on page 4. It starts about 2/3 down the page.
If you can't find it, present your problem to chacal, the moderator and owner of xj4ever and he will tell you what you need to know and is VERY reliable as a parts dealer.

Yes, everyone is correct, you're all grand prize winners today!

The XJ650RJ Seca (also known merely as an XJ650 in the rest of the world, since they had no "Seca" or "Maxim" versions, just an "XJ650" which is pretty much identical to the North American XJ650RJ Seca......still with me?) uses calipers that are unique to that model.....different than all the rest of the XJ-series bikes.

We do have caliper rebuild kits and other parts for those bikes, including complete replacement calipers.

However, looking at the pictures in your gallery, I've never seen an XJ650RJ with that style (huge!) fairing nor with a rectangular headlight, so I'm just wondering what you really have there. The gas tank and side covers look very XJ650-ish, but.....

Could you provide us with the model number of your bike so we can make sure what you have, is what it is.

A good photo of your calipers would also help quite a bit!
