front brake pad

    Front left brake calliper is rattling and one of the pads is dragging why is this and wot can be done thanks for any input

    Have you rebuilt the brake system and fitted new lines?
    If not, then please do so before you go ride again.

    Which bike?

    650 has a floating caliper. Did you tighten it too much so it can't pivot?

    Others have calipers that bolt tight to the lower fork--did you make sure to put the anti-rattle clip in?

    I haven't rebuilt the brake system k-Moe it's on my to do list .
    The bike is an xj 550 seca, have not yet taken the calliper of ,did not realise there was an anti rattle pin will investigate this at the weekend and also the rattle is intermittent hogfiddles
