I am having some trouble with the front brakes on my 83 650 maxim and I am looking for some help. The front brakes squeal when the bike moves forward of back there is no metal rubbing I already spent 2 hours looking for some where that the metal caliper or fork could touch and the only thing touching the rotor is the pads so i took the caliper off and the caliper is really tight to get off the rotor not the mount! The Rotor it self as if the caliper is stuck yet it doesn't lock up the front end or drag the bike down it is just making horrible squealing sound. Anyone have any ideas?? Or suggestions!

Had the same issue, once on my Honda.
Take a rubber mallet and whack the caliper, iif it loosens ups, the caliper pistons needs attention. Learned this trick from a Honda mechanic.
If the caliper piston does not move in/out with ease, rebuilt and flush the whole system out. Rebuilt kits are cheap around$20 max.
BTW the front brakes sucks on these Maxim series, I have one also.

All you have to do is Chamfer the Edges of the Pads.

Use a Dremel, Bench Grinder, Sander or do it by hand.

Round-off the Edges on the Pads.
    Remove the sharp Right Angle.

Once the Hard Right Angle is removed from the Pads ... they won't squeal.
The squeal you hear is a scraping of two Edges.
    The Rotor
    The Pad
Round-off the leading Edges on your Pads and the Brakes will be nice and quiet.
