Front fork cap bolt

    Next job on the list is to replace the front fork oil. From the manual it looks like the cap bolt needs an inhex socket to undo.

    Can someone help me with the size socket required as I'm going to have to purchase this individually or maybe as part of a set.

    17mm (Looks like a Weapon)

    If those are 900 Forks, the Cap has an O-ring that sticks, sometimes.
    The Threads are Ultra-fine.
    Hold-on to the Cap ... it will release with a surprise.

    Thanks for the sizing and the heads up about the release of the cap Rick.

    Yep they're 900 forks but without the air assist or anti-dive system. Luckily I found an original Yamaha workshop supplement for the XJ750RL in a second hand bookshop and that shows the front fork differences.
