My husband read about a good way to treat the front seals on his bike, an 84 Venture royal. He simply lifted up the dust covers and applied a little bit of Lucas power steering stop leak. It refreshes the seals and stops any leaks. We would like to do the same to mine but can't see how to lift up the dust covers, or maybe they don't come up. They look like they are sealed from the inside, any ideas or has any one tried this before?

The dust seals are a press-fit, like many oil seals; you drive them in to install them and usually destroy them popping them out. There's really no way to get "under" them.

Those dust seals pry out, just like on your husbands Venture.

I would expect the Lucas treatment to be temporary at best.

Seals are inexpensive, and not all that hard to do. Why not just replace them?

If your husband doesn't know about it, tell him about VentureRider.
