    Hey all, I have an 82 Xj650j maxim and was wondering if anyone might know the rotor size for the front wheel I have the single disc in the front and from the wear on the pads I think the previous owner had the wrong rotor on it. Just wondering if anyone knew what size it is and how much it would cost. Thanks

    If you're going by the fact that the pads appear to be worn at an angle, that's "normal" for that bike. Because the caliper pivots, the brake pads are MADE "wedge-shaped" and only "flatten out" as they wear.

    NEW, OEM Yamaha rotors are ungawdly expensive if you can even find them. A good, used rotor from a low-mileage bike off eBay is a good possibility;

    or contact XJ4Ever for pricing and availability on a new, aftermarket (EBC) full-floating replacement rotor. They're about half the price of a new Yammie rotor and an upgrade in the bargain.

    But don't assume you have the wrong rotor because of what appears to be uneven wear on the pads.
