My 650 front tire looses air pressure after a month or so. The old tire was trash and when I took it off the PO used bead sealer on it. I had to clean the rim. I also bead blasted it and made sure there was not any groves or anything that would not allow the new tire to seal properly. I have had the tire off the rim twice now looking for a possible problem. This is a tubless rim and tire. Anybody run into this before???

I soap bubbled the valve stem and the entire bead area you think I could get an air bubble to form.. AAHHHHHH

Slow leaks take a very long time to bubble, and they make more of a foam than bubbles.

I'd stick a new core in the valve if I wasn't finding anything else.

I'm going to try setting it a tub of water and see if any thing foams up.

    Thanks

    This Wheel Rim will leak.
The air just slowly lets out.

    This Wheel Rim holds air.
It was buffed with a ScotchBrite Pad:

I would do as you said and put it in a tub to see if you can find it. That's your best bet.

Might try slightly more or less pressure in the tire too.

You could always put a tube in there.

Yep - had the exact same problem on the front wheel of my 84 V45 Magna - similar cast aluminum style rim design. The tire was in excellent condition, but I did what you did - tried to find the leak myself but to no success. Took it into a guy in Anoka and he remounted the tire using some bead sealer on both sides. Said it was a very common problem seen on old 80's bikes with cast aluminum rims. Works great now, no problems after a year. Only chrged me $ 20 to do that.

My rim looks like the second one Rick has in the pictures above. I find it hard to beleive the leak is around the bead. Since the PO had bead sealer on the first tire that leads me to believe there is maybe somthing else going on. I'm going to pull it and put it in a tub of water and see if I can see a crack or something up with the valve stem. I changed it once but it coould be bad. I'll report back when I find it.
