I'm curious, my XJ 650 RJ Seca hit the reserve at 160k today. When does your XJ hit res, and what do you expect it to hit res at? I'm curious mostly about 650s but whatever year and model, it's interesting to know.

I get about 80 to 100 miles before switching to reserve on my 700. Depends on how hard I am twisting it that week.

with about 250 km to res.
makes an average of about 15 km per liter gasoline.

I'm sure my bike isn't tuned reasonably (didn't sync carbs since carburator cleaning) and i'm pretty sure its running way to rich at the moment.

(when freezing it's running quiet okay (+/- 1000rpm idle) , when temps reach to about 10 degree C it revs up to 2500 rpm idle.)

81 xj650 Maxim (not YIS) - I have to hit reserve around 96 miles sometimes I can hit 100. I drive to and from work daily and am on nothing but long streaches of country roads with very little City riding. I am begining to do a tuneup this weekend. I don't think this is that good of mileage. When you figure ~2.5 gallons to refil from reserve that is only giving me about 38 mpg

I usually have to switch right around 100 miles.

'81 xj550rh seca.... Most the time if im being conservative on the throttle, ill get about 67kml or 42mpg. However im not the conservative type. so with a full tank I hit reserve at about 160 miles or 257km
thats with no mufflers. Ive only got 17,000 miles on it, so its fairly new.

Seca turbo getting 46 mpg at 75 mph. When on the boost and doing 85-95, I am getting 37 mpg.

Really liking this bike, the more I ride it the more I appreciate it.

i have no turbo on my bike, and get around 45mph.

and how do you know you're doing 85-95? gauge goes to 85..

and if you're in 5th, at 85, you should be doing 6krpm... 6.500 rpm is around 95mph.. 7000 around 105.. just my 'theoretical' guesses though..

man i feel like a tool, the only guy riding a turbo bike, without the turbo ;(

I have been calculating 41-45 mpg lately. That's going 70-85, depending on conditions. I have gotten less than that, though, like when I had a big pack on the back with a tent and other stuff that stuck out a bit and wasn't too aerodynamic. I was also going fast...and in NM (5000ft), but I think the worst I got, even then, was about 38 maybe.

This is on an 85 xj700.

the 550 gets between 50 and 55mpg consistently... a bit less on cold days when I have to use the "choke"... The 750 gets 45mpg, maybe 48 on a good day. It does have free-flowing exhaust and K&N filter, though.
