Is there any of those filters for mowers that will restrict the flow of gas

I tried one from an auto parts storedthat seemed to work ok, but decided to order one from Chacal that had a 90% connection. I like it and have had no problems.

The question should be why you would want to restrict the flow of gas in the first place? Typo perhaps?

There are two basic types of fuel filters. Paper element, or sintered metal.

The paper element filters are normally in an all metal housing, and may have a very slight flow restriction. I have never had one of these style cause a fuel starvation problem. I did have one plug up shortly after returning a rusty tank back into service.

The sintered metal can usually be found in a clear plastic housing. This allows you to see the actual fuel flow.

Either way, For the few dollars that they cost. Yearly replacement should give the filtering needed.

Steer well clear of the filters that use the perforated plastic elements. They filter less that the in-tank screen, and are only for looks.

Match the inlet/outlet to your fuel line size (should be 1/4" on the XJ's).
