Ok so I believe my fuel pump on my bike is out. I have found one on ebay. Would it be plausible to bypass my fuel pump for right now? My father in law bypassed his on his 81 cb750 and it runs fine but would mine? I have a 92 yamaha seca2 xj600. Any advice/tips would be welcome and appreciated..

I'm not familiar with that particular model, but if it's fuel injected, the answer is no, it won't run without the fuel pump. If it's carborated, it can run being gravity fed.

I believe there is a "gravity issue" due to the design of the Seca II, and it has a fuel pump because it needs one. The '81 CB750 didn't have a fuel pump, it had a vacuum-operated petcock similar to the earlier XJs (but a lot more complicated) and that's probably what got bypassed.

So I would say probably not.

But I would also say check all the wiring, connectors, fuel lines, clamps, in-tank fuel filter, etc., before assuming the pump itself is bad. From the parts fiche, there is a lot to that system, therefore a lot of potential points of failure. Don't jump to conclusions, it could get expensive. The fuel pump is available brand new from Yamaha for around $90 so don't get hosed on eBay.
