    I am still in need of a decent tank with no holes to replace one with holes. I don't mind doing a bit of body work to it and internal rust can be removed. Let me know what you have and a price.

    Found one! someone is parting out a 85 maxim on ebay and just posted parts with free shipping. Just offered a $100 for a good tank and it was accepted.

    Keep in mind that since yours is a California model, you need to have a California tank unless you've deleted the Emissions canister and associated parts and also put a vented cap on the tank.

    If your Calif. tank is junk, I might be interested in it.

    Ill keep you in mind Dave. I may still try getting the original repaired. If I change my mind you'll be the first to know. As far as the canister goes, well, that was mia when my dad bought the bike 20+ years ago.
