Fuel Tank Q's

    I am a new xj owner (I am not new, the bike is new to me). I would like some basic info on the bike if you folks can help.

    It is a 1982 xj650j.
    How much fuel does it hold?
    How far (average) can I go on a tank?
    The petcock does not show a "Reserve' setting, would that be Prime?
    Would Maaco or some other paint outfit paint the tank and side covers for me? I really do not want a rattle can job on it and thought someone may have had thiers painted by a national shop.

    3.4 Gallons with .8 gallons reserve.

    If You have the standard petcock you should have res Pri and fuel (I think that is what it says.

    Distance will vary with your MPG which can vary. I get about 35 mpg others report 40 or more

    Wow.. a local Body Shop is going to let me use thier spray booth and all I have to pay for is paint.
    He also said he would give me help and hit me with a stick every time I mess up. I told him his arm is gonna get tired!!!
