fuel tank sending unit wire, need assistance

    85 maxim 700 aircooled.. have a fuel the wire coming from the tank itself and dont know where its suppose to plug into, been meaning to ask but just forgot but remeber toask now. i have looked and can not find where its plugs into. please let me know where i need to plug it into so it's not dangling beside the motor. thanks

    On the 550s it snakes out under the rear of the tank through a channel in the rubber mounting buffer and plugs in under the seat, next to the LH frame rail. Yours may be similar.

    there is nothing for it to plug into near or around the carbs or the lh side where the majority of the wire loom connects to everything.

    There should be a connector on the left side. It might fall down along side the battery or pull the TCI/rectifier plate and see if it's hanging behind there. Usually it plugs in just in front of the top of battery and behind the fuel tank.
