    Hello All,

    I installed my new fuse box with the blade style fuses for my 1982 750 Yamaha Maxim.

    I installed the location of the wires correctly but I'm having some problems. Here is the sumary of what I've noticed so far:

    1) Ignition fuse on the input and output side works great.
    2) Main fuse on the input and output side works great.
    3) Fuses on the headlight and turn signals are giving me the most problems
    4) When I put my signal on the left or right position the blinker only works when the throttle is higher and it only works on the back blinkers, the front blinkers don't work at all.
    5) When the blinkers are initiated,this causes the headlights to dim down.
    6) The headlights don't work unless you squeeze the front brake. Then after that the headlights will work until you turn off the bike.
    7) When you have the regular headlight on and then turn on the auxillary headlight, it causes the main headlight to go dimmer.
    8) Break lights seem to work well.
    9) Display of the fuel, warning lights, neutral light, seems to work well overall.

    As you can see, the main problem resides with the headlights and the turn signals.

    Any suggestions...I feel that I'm very close to solving this problem, but can't seem to solve it.

    Thanks.

    Here's what to do FIRST:

    Pull the Alternator Cover.
    3 Allen Bolts.
    Pull the Cover way from the Alternator.
    L@@K inside the Cover. At the back.

    There are a Pair of Alternator Brushes in a Housing mounted on the back of the Cover.
    MEASURE the Brushes.

    ::: Tip :::
    There are "Wear Bars" on the Brushes.
    The Brushes need to be 10mm or Longer Minimum.
    Spex --> 10mm (0.39in.) Minimum.

    Clean Brush Orbits on Rotor.
    Scrub with Typewriter-style Eraser
    Pumice-rich rubber eraser like the Rubber-wheel w/ Hairbrush type eraser.

    TEST:
    Charging System.
    Spex: +14.2 > 14.5V DC at Battery w/ Engine @ 2K rpm's or above.
    Below +14.2 = NG
    Above +14.8 = NG

    Have Battery TESTED for Cranking Amps
    Bring Fully Charged Batt to AutoZone for Free test.
