I changed my battery and now my blinkers, headlights, and gauge display now work intermittantly.....really frustrating as this has never happened before since the five years I've had the bike. After I change out my weak old battery the problem happens.

Through more work I found out the problem is in the fusebox...any ideas on how to fix this?...replace fuse box?

    Thanks.

Re: Good Mechanic in the Minneapolis, MN diagnose electrical?

Check the condition of the fuse box and the clips. If they are getting soft and weak, this can happen.

Thanks...I just actually found this out!!! When I messed with the fuse box...I was able to get the lights to go back on. Then I sanded the clips and one of them broke off! Is it hard to install a new fuse box?

    Thank you.

You should replace the glass type fuse holder with a blade type holder. These bikes are notorious for fuse related problems. Go to XJ4 ever at the top and order one from Chacal. Very easy to do & solves a lots of problems.

Check out my electrical post in my signature to see how easy it can be to replace the fuse panel. :)

I just got carried away taping up the new wires to look like the original wiring harness.

    I promise...XJ4EVER

Get the 6 blade model fusebox, and if you have the cash, get the pre-wired extension kit also

The info sheet was worth the price
