gas cap rebuild question

    I'm not quite sure what the hole opposite the ball valve is for (see pic)
    But I'm wondering if I should be cleaning all the hairy stuff out of there or leave it alone...? Is it part of the vent?

    Probably wouldn't hurt to clean the "hairy" stuff out of there (how did anything "hairy" get in there to begin with?) but no, it's not part of the tank vent. That plug down at the bottom of that hole should stay there.

    Ok yeah the 'hairy' stuff is part of the plug... compared to your pictures in your pdf I thought it what was under the little silver cap thing in the middle of the plug- and mine is missing the cap...
