I have a 1982 xj650 and have been having trouble with it starting and was told that part of the problem could be the ethanol gas. Has anyone had trouble with this gas and if so what did you do to alleviate it?
    thanks

If you're having a problem with starting your bike, I can think of a dozen more probable scenarios than the use of ethanol/oxygenated gas. It used to be that small engine manufacturers would advise against ethanol use, but I believe it was more due to incompatibility with rubber lines, o-rings, etc. Modern oxygenated fuels (up to 10% ethanol) are now approved by almost every major motorcycle manufacturer. That being said I still don't use it in my bike unless necessary, seeing that my XJ is 26 years old.
