It looks more like an (80) model with that headlight. Fazer? Lost title may be more trouble than you want unless this was one of those storage auction deals.

    Yeah. It's NOT a 750. If it's really a '90, it's a 600. It's a Radian. And it's no deal.

The Radian was a chain driven 6-speed descendant of the original XJ series; it had a 600cc or 700cc XJ-style air-cooled motor in a 550 Maxim frame with a box-section swingarm and "updated" styling.

It was another GOOD example of Yamaha's "parts room engineering" they basically just plucked solid components from the prior 10 years' worth of mid-size bikes and that's what emerged.

I wouldn't give anybody $800 for THAT one; clean ones can be found for that price. Just from looking at the pics, it's probably been crashed-- front fender missing, sidecovers missing, handlebar appears to be bent. No airbox? My '81 Seca 550 was at least COMPLETE for $800.

    Pass.

I talked him down quiet a bit.

Thanks for the info, I had told him earlier that it was probably a XY 600 much to his surprise.

Id like to get this thing to use the parts on it, maybe even chop it up and make it a retro cafe.

Echo Fitz, 600 Radian in pretty beat shape. $150 in parts without a title. Tops and only if I needed parts.

You missed my point. It's got almost nothing in common with your bike; it would really only be a good parts bike for a 550/600 owner.

I picked up two Radians some time ago for $300 (also in Tulsa) and built one good running bike out of them. It's a great little bike, although I don't care for the small front wheel. I put 750 Maxim forks and front wheel on it, so now it has the same stance as an XJ550.

As Fitz said, the Radian is related more to the XJ550 than the 650, although it will outrun a 650 pretty easily, despite of smaller displacement.

I have a bunch of leftover parts from my build, if you need anything...
