Well...I could'nt resist this one...96 VN800 Classic with 32K....kept in a garage last 5 years and run 500-1000 km each of those years.....$2500 after the customary brakeline/tires/service rant....got it home, stripped down and fettled...then polish ++ It's completely stock and from the beginning of the model line [1996-2005]. Very different to ride....and only ONE carb..... :D

Nice find, that's a good price too! Let us know how this compares to the Seca.

Well totally different ride..not better or worse..just , well, different..I like the ride at 60-70 mph and it pulls like a train to 80+....fit and finish is as good as the seca..and having one carb is a bonus. MPG is 50-55. Will convert chain to belt drive next year. Very relaxing to ride this bike - with the Seca, I just loved the howl of the mac 4-1 when the revs climbed...

Congrats on the new bike! It looks great for being 16 years old. I'm not a "cruiser" rider but like you, I can appreciate the different experiences that riding completely different bikes give. My Vstrom 1000 is a short stroke vee, and if I remember right, yours has almost the identical stroke so it's a rev'ing tractor..........no four can ever deliver that stump pulling feel of a v.....enjoy!

Does this mean that you sold the Seca? Or did you decide to keep it?

I like the idea of the "customary brakeline/tires/service rant" but doesn't anyone just shrug their shoulders and say"Dont buy it then"
Nice bike by the way, those winters seem to keep the bikes well.

Sometimes that might happen, gunna.....and I probably would walk away. Sellers generally have a ballpark number in their head...and then add to it - just like I do!!......and usually, brake lines and tires are overlooked - I put a Metzler on the rear of this for $140 and the ss line is $60. Bob: I have just let the Seca go....planning a long trip away. The Seca was great around town and for the test...and the person who bought it will be taking his test soon. I told him about the forum and about the wealth of knowledge here....I"ll stick around a while as this is by far the best forum online...

Well I'm sure who ever you sold it to will appreciate it. You did a great job on it.
