First off a huge thanks to everyone here. Without this forum and the people that contribute I wouldve never been able to get my first bike running.

A thanks to chacal and xj4ever for all the great parts service and help!

Today I got a bike running. It was pretty ez to get it started. 3rd crank and she was running. I was scared to even press the start button. But my "new to me xj550 max" is running. After 7 years of sitting with a full tank of gas in the crankcase and all. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done but that's the ez part right. The carbs are the hard part.

So this bike is going to my dad. And he's gonna get a nice one (as long as I tune it right). He's got new tires. Fresh carbs that have gone to church and have all new parts. Hes got new progressive front springs with new steering bearings. Forks were clean polished and have new seals. New o ring chain and sprockets. New carb to engine and carb to air box manifolds. New battery will be ordered once I'm ready to deliver the bike to him. I should've let him ride the bike before I put the new tires and suspension so he could tell how much of a difference there is. Cause it is really a night and day difference.

Ill have to ride the bike for a while to make sure all of the other bearings are good along with the clutch.

I'm sure there will be other problems that will come up and questions I'll be asking. But that's why everyone's here right. Haha

But for now I'm very happy that I got the bike running.

    Thanks
    Jim
