Now ... you have to ask yourself ... and be completely honest; too!!!

How well can you wrench? What is your motorcycle repair skill level?

Top wrench. Highly skilled with restoration experience?
You'll probably have no trouble pulling a Virgo left side cover off it every three months to replace the starter idler gear and shim the spring for more tension.

Intermediate. Slow and deliberate. Takes time to study assembly's before removing them.
You'll have a few bad days in camp. This bike might frustrate you.

Beginner. More than two or three fasteners blows your mind and you spend alot of time having one of the above rated tech's work on your bike.
The above mentioned individuals with intermediate and expert skills will be saying: Nice to see you again (your nickname here) ... I hope you brought a new gear and spring.

    Newbee.
Bike has NO kick-start. EATS starter idler gears and springs. Not uncommon to see low-milers being sold for $400.00 ... or, traded for working butane lighter that's at least half-full!

"Virago" -- is Italian for "Push-start"

I had to laugh when I read your first reply RickCoMatic. All my bikes are Virago's and as I have stated in the past. I have yet to be stranded. My 550 is now in the garage and it is not running, because I neglected it after purchasingthe 1100. I often wonder if I will simply pay another 400.00 to get another "push-starter" or if I will invest my time and money to repair the ones I have. I haven't made up my mind, so I sit here on this site learning all I can in case I ever need what yall share.

I don't know anyone that owns a Virago, so I have no idea how accurate your statement is. I am just thankful the Lord has blessed me with one's that push me.
