Hey, just wondering, will bending chrome pipe break off some of the plating or something like that? because I've almost got enough saved up for a 4-1 exhaust, and looking at the one I want to buy, theres lots of usuable chrome pipe I can hack off the muffler that comes with it, so i'd like to bend it using one of these ways:
torch and raw power (thats why i put GRRRR)
or take it to a muffler shop and have them bend it

The muffler shop should be able to bend it with a proper tubing bender... but it all depends on what kind of chrome it is. If its just plated, it'll all flake off. If its a good solid chrome job, you SHOULD be able to have it bent with minimal marring to the pipe.

I wouldn't heat it up with a torch you'll wreck the chrome I would think
All the chrome I've seen done was bent up first then chrome dipped.
Try this for exhaust www.motorcycleproshop.com thats where I got my 4ino1.

Hey is it snowing up there yet

I really liked the part of the story where you "went back to sleep and woke up in the morning to go get stitches"

I'm tempted to try stainless pipe for headers, but I'm afraid the heat will discolor it at the hot spots after I polish up.

And double wall would be too tricky I think

schooter; don't pull the stock exhaust off the 750; just change the mufflers if you want. You'll regret it if you do.

well, fitz, i plant on keeping the stock ones, and improving on them, too, gonna get the batter acid off, paint the collector with high heat silver, anduse some of the blue away, my pipes are kinda blue, and then wrap those suckers up for many years, and, perhaps, when im old and get the hooligan out of me, (40 or more years) and if I still have my seca or have one, i'll slap these 70+ year old really nice babies on, cuz i love loud 4 into 1's

Guys keep your eyes peeled for a black Seca 550; if this weather holds I'll swing thru there sometime on Sunday afternoon. It's just too nice out to not take a run up around the tip of the thumb.
