    I would like to put some different grips on my stock Xj750 handlebars.
    Before I get the wrong size,does anyone know the diameter of the bars under the grips?

    Is this true? Cuz I'm looking at Bike Bandit and having a hard time finding anything but 1"

    I'm looking for somthing classic, but straighter than the stock bars on the Maxim. Hurts my wrist even on a short ride.

    it is 7/8" but more appropriately being jap it is 22mm.

    For a straight bar try a T bar with about 6" rise. That is straight and raises your hands about 2 inches compared to standard. That is if you want to raise your grip, not lower it.

    Beware of drag bars as you may have problems with them hitting the tank.

    Don't want anything completely straight. Bikemaster makes a "GP Touring" that looks promising. 7/8 " diam.

    Width = 28"
    Rise = 4.2"
    Pullback = 4.2 "
    Center = 4.8"

    Also a "Nighthawk" style - but maybe too much pullback?

    Width = 28"
    Rise = 7"
    Pullback = 9.2"
    Center = 4.8"

    I THINK that “GP Touring” is what I put on my SECA.
    I have tank contact.
    Moving shoke etc in progress.

    A Maxim rider will be able to help you with the rise IF you don’t want tank contact.

    I dunno, I've got "European" on my 550 Secas and they only come VERY CLOSE to the tank; I've measured the "GP Touring" with an eye toward my 650 Seca and they looked like they'd fit.

    The "Nighthawk" is taller and similar to the stock Maxim bar but without the goofy wrist angles.

    I'm lucky in that there's a retailer near me that carries them so I can check them out in person, even carry a set out to the parking lot if necessary.
