Well I got a nice pair of grips off eBay. I had read a thread in here about grips and took bigfitz52's advice and bought a pair of those big old style grips. The ones that are big and squishy. I remember riding a bike along time ago that had these on it and they were great. These were $6.95 and $3.95 for shipping, not bad! Here they are:

The seller is a nice old guy from Tennessee who e-mailed me and said that it might take awhile to ship cuz he was old....lol. I think they came the next dang day. Anyway, thanks for the heads up bigfitz52 and although they aren't the expensive Gran Tourismo Grips that I have seen online for big bucks these are really nice. Gonna be putting them on tonight. I think the seller put his name on the pic I saved if anybody is interested in these grips and a link above also. :D

I had a pair of those on one of my dirt bikes to keep my hands from getting blisters when riding hard all day. They are quite comfortable, but don't work so good with grip heaters under them.

They've got an air pocket between the two layers. Heat wouldn't pass through them very well.

    J. C. Whitney sells the same grips. I like how they feel. Too bad they're an inch too short for the Venture :(

Well getting them on the throttle tube on my 82 XJ650 Maxim proved to be a small challenge. That side grip is 1" instead of 7/8" and the ones I bought did have the 1" for that throttle tube. My throttle tube has kind of a star configuration at the bottom that is a little wider than the rest of the tube and kept snagging on the guts or insides of the new grip which must be perforated inside a little bit :? . I had to lube the grip up real good just using a tad of soapy water. Then had to wiggle the heck out of it to keep it from snagging and it finally went on. Hopped on the bike (which has been sitting in my room on the center stand since I bought it/ I dont think the snow is ever gonna melt around here) and they feel great. Don't think I would want any other grip but these......very comfortable. Yeah MiCarl J.C. Whitney does have the same grips.......just looked. J.C. Whitney charges a bit more for them though ($6.99 shipping and $7.49 for the grips) Not much though.......
