Hey guys just wondering the best route to take to have a clean handlebar setup? Xj750 '83 Uk. I want to ditch the Yamaha switches. Need to know which throttle assembly, levers /MC to go for? Also have been looking at the POSH mini-switches for lights/horn. Need your advice!

I used an r6/r1 throttle assembly for mine. they dont have any switches on them. I reused my stock throttle cable and tube for it to. I got rid of the on/off button entirely and moved the starter button to the side of the bike with a momentary switch. For the lights/horn i got a smaller switch off ebay thats about half the size of the oem. I ditched the choke lever all together since its easy to just reach under and manually operate it anyway. For the master if you dont car about brake lights most dirt bike ones will work fine. other than that you gotta decide if you want mirrors or not mounted to the mc. i personally like the suzuki gz250 master on ebay with a brake light switch and mirror mount. plus the brake lines mounts in front of it not on its side and that helps clean the area up abit. I also dropped my headlight and gauge cluster several inches and that really helped lower the profile of the bike.

    For absolutely bare-naked bars??
Honda XR 75 (from the '80's) had an IN-the-bar throttle cable,
you already have the remote master cyl, you will have a brake cable and a clutch cable.
Re-locate switches and buttons onto a panel under the left lip of the tank.
    Move the ignition switch.
Replace your gauges with a $20 bicycle speedometer, with the magnet triggered off your back rim, just to hide the wire.

You may need a kill switch and horn button for MOT (??)

i wouldn't suggest removing the on-off switch from the bars.

if you've ever had a throttle stick, you'll understand why....

Pulling the clutch on mine ended in over revving the bike. Kill switch is a thumb flick away and doesn't require you to pull a hand off the bars of a rapidly accelerating bike. (I was into the throttle pretty hard when mine stuck)
