Handlebar controls lettering?

    Hey guy, going through my handlebar controls and want to clean them up and paint them. Is the lettering stickers or what? How do I handle those. Do I need to remove them then paint? Or just paint then reapply like stickers then maybe clear? Thanks

    I figured it out. Will need to get some stickers from chacal. So should this stuff be gloss black or satin? I’m torn! Have painted my rough looking levers gloss but now thinking maybe I should have used satin!
