    Thank you very much!

    The bike is parked, today!
My wife and daughters are taking me to Foxwoods Resort and Casino for a day of celebration.

    I need a day off.

I'll put a quarter in a Machine and Pull the handle down for all the XJ-Family in here that are so nice to know and call my friends.

Emphasis on the "Old" no doubt.
I'm in denial that I actually turned 60.
    But, it's catching-up with me.

I'm old, fat, balding and got bad knees ... but, I'm still able to get on the Bike and have a good time.

    Don't be sorry!
    It's true.
I was around before they even made the first one.
I remember when they were all brand new, too.

The Cycle Press raved about these babies in such a way that it standing-room only in the showroom.
If you could show the guy you were making minimum wage and brought a co-signer along with you ... you went home with a Yamaha Shaftie.

That Final Drive Unit became the signature piece of your owning the latest thing in Japanese technology.
Just enough motorcycle to make you the envy of every kid on the block.
The whine of a Yamaha Middle Gear Assembly became the new music that made big loud exhaust noise just that!
    Loud noise.

The new sound on the street was closer to listening to a Formula-1 Car rather than a lawn mower with a broken muffler.
    A sweetness.
Like hearing the whine of the turbines of a sleek jet engine before you watch it pass overhead.
    Distinctly magnificent.

Today, a 60 year old man rode a 25 year old bike back to the Dealership for its annual inspection.
    They looked it over good.
    Then gave me my sticker!

I plan on riding it back there, again, for next years sticker; too!

Yeah, i'm wishing you many more stickers too, Rick. You've been much more than helpful every time i needed advice. You've helped countless ppl in here you dont even know with advice that is levels above anything you'd get in most shops. Thank you, and I hope you have many happy miles ahead.....

May I add my congratulations as I too am approaching that particular milestone. ( at least it's a milestone rather than a headstone!)
I find my long overdue return to the world of cycles very helpful in my ongoing battle against maturity.

    Not a Re:!

    Much better than that!

You may be old, but you'll always be remembered.

How many people can claim that?

    Happy Birthday, Rick.

What's the origin of your name, RickCoMatic?

Inquiring *younger* minds want to know. :)

Happy 60% of a century to you,Rick! I got an inspection sticker today as well. When my bike shop replaces Stevie Wonder as the primary inspector,my legality is surely in jeopardy (I jest!). I think it is awesome that you still love bikes, let alone that you take the time to help out kindred souls. You can truly be proud of yourself...I am sure others are!

    Another belated Happy Birthday!

I wouldn't have attempted anything near what I have done on my old XJ if it wasn't for the experts on this forum like you and many others.

And I actually thought that middle gear whine I heard meant I had a bad trannie until you guys set me straight. Yep, sounds like a turbine spooling up.

Happy belated Birthday! I decided, a few years ago, that if your age starts with the letter T or F, then you aren't old. I still have 11 years of youth to experience. You, on the other hand, are old. Getting older is still much better than the other alternative! Wishing you many more to come.

If you look at when the thread started he isn't 60 anymore he is 61. So he is even older. hahaha Don't feel bad Rick. Non of us are getting any younger. As long as you can ride that is all that counts. After that your dead. Ride on!
