Hard tail how to? My opinion is don't. A lot of time and money went into engineering these bikes to near perfection. Personaly I wound leave the basic structure/integrity in tack and go for only cosmetic mods for the safety factor. Just my opinion.

click the image icon in the toolbar (looks like mountains with the sun) which appears above the message body txt box when you do a new post or reply; a separate box will appear; delete what's in the box; put your cursor in the box; right click and paste your copied img code there. Your picture will display in your post.

Not sure if it was a valid path anyway, it's not showing the pic when I add it.

If the O/P corrects the path & does what you say it will work then 8) I wanna know what this "beast" is now!

TCBrothers has a hardtail kit for 125 bucks. Just keep in mind that a hardtail requires different riding skills and will be hard on your back and tail.LOL

Usually want around .120 wall thickness.Pretty much all I ride are rigids. They're not as bad as everybody says.I'm 48,6'3",270lbs.As long as you do the geometry. If you strut a bike, usually they are worse than a true hardtail. The shock travels up the rear tubesIf it's strutted they usually are right inline with your back.

TCBrothers has a 4ft section of .120 pipe for 20 bucks. Look here:http://www.tcbroschoppers.com/weld-on-hardtails/extra-frame-tubing-4ft.html

I wouldn't pay extra for seamless dom. The factory tubing is plain old electroweld (I've cut through enough to know). 1" by 11 gauge should match the frame members quite well (that's a nominal 1/8" / 2mm wall). I'd guess it might even be US made steel, or made to match some US size; the US still dominated the steel market back then, after all.
