    Hi,

It seems like it is going to cost me almost as much to rebuild my MC as it will cost to buy a new one.

    Has anybody tried this one:

I think it would look cool on my project but I am not sure if I like that extra hose from the reservoir to the brake lever body.

Send the seller a message asking the bore and stroke of the cylinder. You have to be sure the fliud displaced by the M/C is sufficient for the calipers, or you won't be stopping well.

I've been doing a lot of research on MC's recently and, as it is with most things in this area, you get what you pay for.

These ones are basically a Chinese manufactured mass-produced units and they suffer in quality but they are cheap... the colored res is a cheap gimmick that will start to tarnish after a few months... personally I wouldn't leave my braking or clutch control in the hands of a cheap product... the metal is going to crack and the disclaimer...

"Painted Surfaces may have minor scratches and imperfections but that does not affect quality of the part. Please understand this before making the purchase."

...makes me think the whole finish is very poor and is going to get worse. Obviously they have had a lot of returns to warrant that disclaimer.

Also when there is no information on handlebar size or piston this is a red flag to me, and also if you're planning on using it for front brake you need to make sure there is a brake switch electrical connection...

I would plan on paying between $120 and $150 for something that will last. Look for Nissin brand. If you go for the cheaper ones even if they aren't shipped from China then, best case you'll be replacing it in a year, worst case it will fail on you and that can be very serious.
