Has anyone tried the Minton Mods to the forks?

There were a whole set of mods to improve the XJ650 when it first came out 25 years ago called the Minton Mods named after the guy who wrote them. They have also been applied to the XS750 and 850 as well as the SR500 and XS1100. They can be found lots of places on the net such as 650central.com.
The main improvement is to handling and the response of the forks. The mods involve drilling out the small holes in the inner tubes the oil flows through to increase response and installing a fork brace. I tried that on my SR500 and XS1100 with a noticeable improvement in the ride which was really stiff before but now it's more comfortable. I haven't tried it on the 750 Seca yet but the forks use the same design so I was wondering if anyone else has tried it yet?

I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that was all written specifically for the XS's and not the XJ's. Thus, much of what they talk about doesn't apply to us.

However, having said that, there are a few of the tips DO apply to the XJ's.
    - Most of the chassis stuff - minus the fork mods. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure the XJ's fork design is differnt from the XS. You'd be better off with some progressive springs & good fork oil.
    - The engine bits are pretty standard (ignition/exhaust/carbs) that we all know about [I hope], though don't apply directly as our bikes use slightly newer tech. And their Stage 2 stuff is pretty specific to the XS's twins.

My forks are all the same but I already did the progressive springs and oil and it's still too stiff so next time I have them apart I'm trying the mods.
