    Hello all,
I probably have not been here in 2+ years. I will look around and see what is going on.

I sold the air cooled maxim 2 years ago. The water cooled one was stuffed into the back of a trailer and forgotten when life took over, till 2 weeks ago. I got it running well enough to actually ride to work today. It all seems to have been just the way it was when parked. Right down to the non working fan.

I can get it to run direct from a 12 V source, so its OK by itself. but it wont turn on when it starts to heat up.

Anyone know what wires to switch on so I can fit a manual over ride - evil me wants to run it into the engine stop/run switch, cos I never use it.

Anyway nice to have it running again. I now know again what they meant in the old days when they said, when a 5 valve yamaha wants to run, there aint much else that could keep up. It will out run my 1100 virago, easy.

    Cool.
    Srinath.

Welcome back - glad you pulled her out of storage...

I'm sure one of the X owners will know your wiring question I know a couple of folks have dealt with fan issues.

Hi there, and welcome back. I am new here.

I see you are in Charlotte. I am up near Statesville. We should hook up and go for a ride sometime! Lots of great roads within an hour or so.

I wish I could help you with the fan issue, but I know nothing about the water-cooled bikes.

I used to go through statesville everyday when I was comuting to north wilkesboro. And yea, riding - though I am not much of a joy rider. I commute, and that almost is all I do, except to test em. .
    Cool.

Srinath! You are supposed to drop in every other month or so...not every other year...
Darn good to hear you are doing well, you have been missed.
I think you can switch in a ground to the thermoswitch and get manual overide but I wouldn't know which wire to tap into.
